Mosaic Camera Pro - Face & Plate Hider ("the App") is designed with user privacy as its top priority. This Privacy Policy explains how the App handles information.
The App does not collect any personal information. Photos, edits, passcodes, and settings are stored exclusively on your device and are never transmitted externally.
The App requests camera access for photo capture. Captured data is used only for in-app editing and is not transmitted externally.
What face data is collected: The App uses Apple's Vision framework to transiently detect only the bounding-box rectangles of faces present in an image. The App does not collect, derive, or generate any facial feature vectors, face-recognition identifiers, biometric templates (including FaceID templates), expression analysis, age/gender estimates, or any other personally-identifying face data.
Purpose of use: The detected rectangles are used solely as positional hints so the user can overlay a mosaic, blur, or emoji on the corresponding region of the photo. They are not used for any other purpose.
Processing location: All face detection happens entirely on the user's device. Image data and detected coordinates are never transmitted to any external server.
Third-party sharing: Face data, and any other information, is never shared with, sold to, or provided to any third party (including analytics providers, advertising networks, or machine-learning services).
Retention: Detected face coordinates are held only in memory during image processing and are discarded immediately when processing completes. They are never persisted to disk. Only the final user-saved edited image is stored on the device.
Other on-device AI: The same on-device, transient model applies to license-plate text recognition and person segmentation (used for background blur). These produce only temporary coordinates / masks that are likewise never persisted.
Photo library access is requested to save edited photos and to import existing ones. Only the photos you explicitly select are loaded.
Used for Secret Box authentication. Biometric data is processed by iOS Secure Enclave and is never accessible to the App.
All data is stored in the app's sandboxed container:
- Photos & Videos: internal storage (AES-GCM encrypted)
- Original photos: internal storage (encrypted)
- Passcode: Keychain (iOS secure storage)
- Settings: UserDefaults (app-local)
Photos can be deleted at any time. Uninstalling the app removes all stored data. Keychain passcodes may persist after deletion.
The App is a paid one-time purchase. Payment is handled by the App Store; the App itself never sees your payment details.
The App does not share, sell, or transmit user data to any third party. No third-party SDKs, analytics tools, or ad networks are used.
Since the App collects no personal information, no COPPA-regulated data collection occurs.
This policy may be updated. Significant changes will be communicated through app updates.
